When we hear the number a million we think of $$$$. That’s a lot of green. Everyone is always asking, How do you make a million dollars? Marshall Brain has the answer. Ever been to HowStuffWorks.com….. Yea, me too. He started it. Check out his presentation, How to Make a Million Dollars, he gave at Duke University. I think you will find it provocative.
Check out his blog site too. http://marshallbrain.blogspot.com/

Rednecks are the coolest people ever. Â They spend their entire life savings building unstoppable rock crawling machines.Â
This is a Suzuki Samari on steroids. 44 inch tires, a Chevy small block and some dump truck axles should get you up just about any obstacle. The maneuver this buggy is attempting is what trail riders like to call bump’n.  It’s when you’ve tried to get up the trail slow and all finesse like, but you just can’t get up it.  So you drop it into 2ND gear, rev the engine to about 4,000 rpm and dump the clutch.  The speed you generate is enough that when you hit a big rock, you BUMP IT and it launches the buggy into the air and you hope your forward momentum is sufficient enough to get you up and over the rock.  Some times it works, other times it makes for some really good video and pictures.Â
Â
The Samari made it, but this CJ7 wasn’t so lucky.
This all took place at the SFWDA Annual Dixie Run in Tellico, NC.  The smell of rebel flags were in the air. Check out this video. It gives you an idea of what these guys are up to. I like the part when the guys Jeep floats down the river. Â

If you watch the news, surf the internet, or just talk to people, then you know that on October 9th Google bought YouTube.com for a measly 1.65 billion dollars.  Pocket change for Google right? Well, here is some stuff that you probably didn’t know.  Do you know who Eric Schmidt is?….He is the CEO and the executive member of the board committee of Google.  Between September 27th and 29th Mr. Schmidt sold over 46 million dollars of his stock, just 5 business days before the big announcement of the $1.65 billion purchase. This marked Google’s largest purchase ever. Usually when a company buys another company, the buyers stock takes a hit while the sellers stock climbs dramatically.  But since Youtube.com was privately held they had no stock.  So you would expect Google stock to decrease slightly, which it did.  Great reason for Mr. Schmidt to sell. But, on Oct 17th (another 5 business days), Google announces their 3rd quarter revenues. Their profit has soared 92% from last year. The stock price jumped $50 in one day to its current $460 price.  Mr. Schmidt sold his stocks at a low $402 per share, a loss of $16 million if he would have waited 10 trading days.  So the question is why would the CEO do such a thing if the company was doing so well? Sound similar to Enron. Those profits sure did increase quickly.  Google has had a busy month.  I don’t expect things to calm down anytime soon since they have already put pressure on Yahoo’s Facebook.com for a measly $1 billion.

So are we getting scared yet?  As you know Kim Jong Il, the North Korea leader, tested the country’s WMD’s (weapons of mass destruction) on October 9th and succeeded.  Kim supposedly apologized and said he won’t do it again. Well today this is not true. He was not sorry and he did not say he wouldn’t execute a second test. Maybe it’s time the UN dealt Kim Jong Il in on the next round. Seen the 2004 movie “Team Americaâ€??  It’s amazing how accurate the movie is becoming. I gave it 5 stars, a must see. Â

One of the greatest rock bands ever is Def Leppard.  They are cool because they have long hair, are British, and have a one armed drummer that can play better than Stomp.  Check out this music video of their 1992 release of “Let’s Get Rocked. It was made about the time Al Gore was creating the internet and I was playing 64 bit games on my Commodore. The renderings and animation were amazing back then and they still impress me today. They must have linked at least 31 Commodore 64s (about 2 gigs) and an entire army of Geeks on Call to create this master piece. Check it out.

The population in the US has surpassed 300 million and the illegal immigrant count has reached 12 million, 4% of the total population in the US. But it’s OK. We can build fences now. That will stop them. Bush signed a bill today to put tax payer’s money to work building a 700 mile long fence on the 2,100 mile long border? The cost is not known yet, but the bill passed anyway? The Mexican president, Vincent Fox, is calling the fence “shameful and comparing it to the Berlin wall. Someone should educate Senior Fox on the material properties of a wall and a fence. I have solution: tear down all the fences. Let the Mexican immigrants in on the condition that they join the Army for one year before being granted citizenship. Then invade Mexico.
Check out this clip on Bush’s border control policy; Funny.

Yes this is a real t-shirt for a real candidate for governor of Alabama. Her name is Loretta Nall and her slogan is “Vote Nall Y’all…it’s just common sense.â€? She is all about showing her boobs for publicity. If you have $50 to donate she will send you a video of her flashing. She also supports legalizing marijuana and is selling stash boxes. Oh, did I mention she does not support the Patriot Act and the Real ID Act. The bad news is that she didn’t get 40,000 signatures and $25,000 of donated proceeds, so if you live in Alabama you will just have to write her in.Â
If you want to buy one of the t-shirts or check out her other ridiculous shirts she is selling click here.Â
Here’s the news story.I love America.  Â
